Advances in telecom sector have only doubled the industry growth rate year-on-year, both globally and in India. New developments like the 3G technology have made the market a perfect backdrop for buyers. The Indian telecom industry so far has witnessed the highest growth rate in the world, charting a huge 45%. With more than 200 million telephone lines, India ranks as the third largest network in the world, next to China and USA.
Mobility and connectivity being the keywords, the telecom industry this year will be focusing on rural areas in India, enabling farmers and small-scale industries to have faster access to information, pertaining to weather and market conditions. With cheaper handsets and lesser tariffs more than 500 million subscribers are forecast in 2011 for the Indian telecom market.
All these new initiatives along with the emergence of new telecom projects, setting up of service bases, expansion of coverage areas, network installations and maintenance, the industry is going for large -scale recruitments, creating a huge demand for software engineers, mobile analysts, and hardware engineers for mobile handsets.
